TRAVEL INFORMATION

Transport upon arrival in the Netherlands By air
From Schiphol Amsterdam International Airport there is a direct railway connection to the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre (RAI Railway Station). The journey will take about 10 minutes. From the RAI Railway Station it is only an 8-minute walk to the Congress Centre.

By train
When arriving at the Central Railway Station (Centraal Station) the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre can be easily reached by tram no. 4.
When arriving at the Amstel Railway Station (Amstel Station) the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre can be easily reached by buses numbers 15, 69 and 169, or subway nr. 50 and 51.

By car
When you arrive by car via Utrecht (A2) follow the signs Amsterdam RAI. The Amsterdam RAI exit is the first one on the A10, directly after intersection A2-A10.
When arriving by car via The Hague (A4) you should follow the signs Amsterdam-Zuid/RAI, as signposted just before entering Amsterdam.


GENERAL INFORMATION

Car parking
Ample underground parking space is available at the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre and delegates arriving by car are strongly recommended to use these facilities. Parking fees are not included in the registration fee. Car parking tickets for one entry are available from the ticket machines near the Registration desks and cost € 14

Coffee and tea
During the symposium session breaks coffee and tea will be served free of charge to delegates wearing their name badge.

Electricity supply
In the Netherlands, electricity is supplied at 220 V - 50 Hz AC.

Insurance
Registration for this symposium implies that the participant agrees that the organisers do not assume any liability whatsoever. Participants are requested to make their own arrangements in respect of medical, travel and personal insurance.

Language
The official language of the symposium is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.

Lunches
Lunch is included in the registration fee and will be served from buffets in the Lounge.

Programme changes
The organisers cannot assume liability for changes in the programme due to external or unforeseen circumstances.

Registration / Information area
The Registration/Information desk in the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre will be open from 8 am to the end of the Symposium sessions.

Slide preview facilities
Equipment to enable speakers to check the sequence of slides is available at the Registration / Information desk in the Lounge.
All presenters should take their slides to the Registration / Information desk NOT LESS THAN one hour before the start of their session. Presenters are kindly requested to collect their slides from the Registration / Information desk one hour after the session finishes.

Special dietary requirements
Arrangements can be made for delegates with special dietary requirements provided a written application is received by the Symposium Secretariat before 4 November 2010.

Taxis
Taxis can be ordered through the Receptionist’s desk at the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre.
Taxi fares are always indicated on the taximeter. It is usual to add a tip of about five percent to the fare. Taxi drivers will give you a receipt if asked.

Visa requirements
Entry to the Netherlands is granted to all foreigners attending symposiums organised in the Netherlands, regardless of their nationality. Delegates must, of course, meet the normal entry requirements, i.e. they must be in possession of valid travel documents and sufficient means of support.

Delegates requiring a visa for entry to the Netherlands are strongly advised to apply for a visa in their own country at least two months before their intended date of travel.
